Hartz Mountain was our first night out in a (borrowed) tent.  It took us under two hours to drive from Hobart.  There is a large shelter with toilets at the start of the walk.

The walk in is easy, with a bit of a climb at the end.  We managed to find a flat enough area to pitch our tent, which we did quickly as it felt like the wind was picking up.  We then toyed with the idea of climbing the peak, however decided to wait until the morning.  We spent the evening perched on nearby rocks and watched an amazing sunset, and the mood continually change with the weather.

The next morning we did climb the peak, but unfortunately the weather came in and we were unable to see any of the view.  Consequently we headed straight back to the car.
