About

We have taken up bushwalking later in life, and just happen to live in southern Tasmania where there’s an abundance of fantastic destinations right on our doorstep.

Or at least not far from it.

This website details our walks, choice of gear and other tips you might find useful before bashing up a peak or into a muddy rainforest.

Andrew & Heather.

About Heather:

I’m about to turn 44 years old, am 165cm tall and weigh around 58kg.  I have been bushwalking since my friend, Alison, asked me to walk the Overland Track with her in December 2013.  Once I’d committed to the Overland Andrew and I started getting the gear and did a few walks as part of my preparation for the 6-day trek.  The preparatory walks consisted of a walk to the ski field hut on Mt Field, and Hartz Mountain; hardly comparable to what I was in for!  I made it through the 6 days carrying way too much weight, but enjoyed it just the same.  Since then Andrew, Alison and I have completed a number of walks to put our gear to good use.  Over the years we have become much more proficient, picking up great tips from the many reports found on the internet.  We hope to be able to do the same for other people discovering bushwalking.
